For Non-profits/Community Partners
In partnership with Sierra Health Foundation and Sacramento County, Hmong Youth and Parents United’s COVID-19 Response Grants are intended to address the impacts of COVID-19 and to quickly provide financial resources so that nonprofit organizations or entities that serve more than 50 community members in the Sacramento County to continue serving Hmong and other underserved children, youth, and families throughout this public health and economic crisis. HYPU will be awarding $2,500 to $5,000 grants to eligible applicants that address the needs for children, youth, and families in Sacramento County. Grant distribution will be subject to HYPU’s discretion and availability of funds.
COVID-19 Response Grants are intended to provide funding for nonprofit organizations to retain staff and continue to deliver services related to COVID-19 prevention and education. COVID-19 Response Grants cannot be used for the following:
● Lobbying/Political Activities
● Religious Activities
● Executive-Level Bonuses
Process and Deadlines:
● Application Available: October 13, 2020
● Deadline: October 23, 2020
● Grant Awards: October 30, 2020
Eligibility:
Before accessing and completing a COVID-19 Response Grant application, organizations must meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
● Nonprofit organization (NPO) is a 501c3 organization in Sacramento County; or
● An entity serving 50 or more community members in Sacramento County; and
● Must able to provide IRS tax exemption letter
● Group organizations that are not nonprofits must be able to provide a list of individuals who serve on the organization’s board/staff to prove the legitimacy of their organization.
● These organizations must utilize response grant funds to provide and promote COVID services, prevention, and education to the community and residents in Sacramento
County; and
● Agree to share with community members HYPU COVID-19 Resource Binder, educate community members regarding HYPU’s assistance programs, and attend a 1-hour COVID-19 Prevention and Education Training
Only completed applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed. All COVID-19
Response Grant recipients will be required to sign a memorandum of agreement prior to
receiving funds and complete a final progress report by December 31, 2020.
