COVID-19 Programs
Since March 2020, Hmong Youth and Parents United has partnered with various funders and organizations to support our community through the COVID-19 Pandemic. The COVID-19 Programs includes outreach, food and essential items giveaways, financial assistance grants, contact tracing and case investigators programs, business navigators programs, and employment opportunities for youth and the unemployed.

Emergency & General Needs Assistance Program
As our nation is still faced with the current health pandemic, we are in continuous search for resources to assist our families impacted by COVID-19. In October, we were fortunate to partner with Sacramento County and Sierra Health Foundation to provide resources to our community members, businesses, and community partners through the CARES Act.
The new guidelines only allows for our organization to provide assistance to our community members in need in the following areas:
● Provide assistance with paying for outstanding utility bills such as SMUD and PG&E;
● Provide assistance with paying for outstanding rent to stop evictions of family from home;
● Provide assistance with auto repairs of vehicle used for transportation to work;
● Supply two weeks of food and basic essential supplies during quarantine, reduced work hours, or unemployment;
● Provide assistance with providing student desk and chair for social distance learning; and
● Provide assistance with paying for outstanding internet bills related to social distance learning.
Process and Deadlines:
● Application Available: December 14, 2020
● Deadline: Until Funds are Exhausted
Before accessing and completing a COVID-19 Emergency & General Needs Assistance Program online application, applicants must:
● Be the head of household or at least 18 years of age.
● Qualify as a Moderate- Income Household (below 80 Median Family Income). Total household income cannot exceed maximums below, per household size in the unit.
● Be able to submit a source(s) of documentation of identification.
● Must not have previously been accepted for the Emergency Assistance Relief Fund (9/2020 - 12/2020)
● Complete a 1-hour session of COVID-19 Prevention and Education Training.
