We wanted to time travel back to the 2000’s so we hosted a youth mixer called Live Like the 2000’s. The mixer was for middle schoolers to high school not only to dance and meet each other, but to take pictures with friends behind a sparkly backdrop and even a CD wall. There were lots of raffle prizes to give out, where students were able to win a variety of different prizes such as: gift cards, a white board set, and acrylic painting set as well. To top it all, there was a prize of 200 dollars for any club with the most people who attended, and the club with the most attendance went to Grant Hmong Club. The other clubs who attended for the Club Spirit Award were Rio Linda Hmong club, Class of 2022, Class of 2021, and JFK Hmong club. Don’t worry, they didn’t leave empty handed. Thanks to our MC’s Misty Yang and Nathan Vue who held an exciting game of riff off at the beginning so that the students were able to become comfortable and get to meet different students. Another thanks to DJ David Cha who played amazing music that all the students seemed to enjoy and were bopping along with. With all the dancing there was also free pizza, turkey rolls, fruit punch, and cookies. The night was incredible and ended with a dance of the cha cha slide.
